Keeping in view the need for conservation of energy the conference aims at renewable energy especially devices to store this form of energy. In the present day scenario pollution has become a leading problem before the world. The time has come when a collective effort is required from all the stakeholders to overcome it. Keeping this aspect in view the conference will also have deliberations related to hygiene.
Established in year 1919 by a great visionary Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil our parent institute The RayatShikshanSanstha, Satara is gearing up to celebrate the centenary year in 2019. What started as a small hostel for boys is now one of the largest educational institution in the continent of Asia. Today the Sanstha caters to the needs of more than 5 Lakh students through a dedicated staff of about 18 thousand which look after 675 branches including PG departments, colleges, schools, hostels and offices.
Our institute Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science, is largest science institute not only in the Sanstha but in the affiliating Shivaji University, Kolhapur too. During last fifty years, the Institute has not only scaled academic heights but also made its impact felt at state and national level with A+ grade with CGPA 3.57 in third cycle accreditation by NAAC, Bangalore. It has also received the status of College with Potential for Excellence from UGC, Star Scheme by Department of Biotechnology, FIST by Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, Best College Award for NSS Unit by Government of Maharashtra and Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Academic Excellence Award by Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Best College Award by RayatShikshanSanstha, Satara.
At present, the Institute offers programmes from 11th std to Ph.D. In addition to the traditional B.Sc. it runs several professional courses such as Animation Science, Forensic Science, Nano Science and Technology, Computer Science, Biotechnology, BCS, Food Processing and Packaging. Students also have the opportunity to pursue M.Sc. in Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, and Mathematics. To prepare the students to face the global employability challenges, the Institute conducts thirty seven career oriented courses.
To achieve the holistic development of the students from diverse background, the Institute organizes co curricular activities such as Avishkar research competition, Poster presentation and Extracurricular activities through various activity groups such as Youth Festival, NCC, NSS, Parijatak, Competitive Examination Guidance Centre, Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Nature Club etc.
